F1 Dutch Grand Prix Starting Grid With All Penalties Applied

The starting order for the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort has been confirmed, with Lando Norris leading the field from pole position after a dramatic qualifying session. The McLaren driver produced a standout final lap to beat both Mercedes cars and secure the top spot for Sunday’s race.

Norris will share the front row with George Russell, who narrowly missed out on pole despite showing strong pace throughout the weekend. Mercedes teammate Kimi Antonelli will start third, giving the championship-leading team a strong presence at the front of the grid. Oscar Piastri completes the second row in fourth for McLaren.

Behind them, Lewis Hamilton will begin the race from fifth after edging Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc in qualifying. Hamilton’s position gives him an opportunity to make progress early in the race, particularly as he continues his pursuit of Antonelli in the championship standings. Leclerc will start directly behind him in sixth.

Home favourite Max Verstappen faces a more difficult challenge. The Red Bull driver qualified seventh, meaning he will begin his home race from the fourth row. Verstappen has struggled to find the ideal balance with his car at various points during the weekend, leaving him with plenty of work to do if he wants to fight for a podium finish.

Liam Lawson will start eighth in the second Red Bull, followed by Audi’s Gabriel Bortoleto in ninth. Racing Bulls rookie Arvid Lindblad completes the top 10, setting up an interesting battle in the midfield.

Pierre Gasly will start 11th for Alpine, with Yuki Tsunoda taking 12th for Racing Bulls. Nico Hulkenberg lines up 13th for Audi, ahead of Alpine’s Franco Colapinto in 14th. Esteban Ocon occupies 15th for Haas.

Further down the order, Alex Albon will start 16th for Williams, followed by teammate Carlos Sainz in 17th. Fernando Alonso takes 18th for Aston Martin, while Lance Stroll starts 19th. Ollie Bearman completes the classified grid in 20th for Haas, with Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez listed behind him for Cadillac.

The grid means Norris has an important opportunity to convert his qualifying performance into another victory. Pole position has been particularly valuable at Zandvoort since the Dutch Grand Prix returned to the calendar, while the circuit’s narrow layout can make overtaking difficult.

For Mercedes, Russell and Antonelli will be hoping to put immediate pressure on Norris when the lights go out. Antonelli’s third-place starting position is especially significant because he enters the weekend with a substantial championship advantage over Hamilton and Russell.

Hamilton, meanwhile, has Ferrari teammate Leclerc immediately behind him and Verstappen just two positions further back. That creates the possibility of a tense opening phase, with several leading drivers closely matched on the grid.

With the penalties and final adjustments accounted for, the Dutch Grand Prix is set to begin with Norris at the head of a highly competitive field. The combination of championship pressure, a challenging Zandvoort circuit and several drivers starting close together could make the opening laps crucial to the outcome of the race.
