Monza’s 5.793km layout is renowned for its long straights, heavy braking zones and high-speed corners, making qualifying particularly important. The circuit has hosted the Italian Grand Prix throughout almost the entire history of the Formula 1 World Championship, with the exception of the 1980 event.

Alpine reserve driver Paul Aron is also set to take part in FP1, replacing Pierre Gasly for the opening session. Aron has already completed three practice outings during the 2026 season and will use his Monza appearance to help Alpine evaluate its latest upgrade package.
With practice beginning Friday morning and qualifying following on Saturday afternoon, teams face a crucial two days of preparation before the Italian Grand Prix lights go out at Monza on Sunday.
