RB22 HAS LEFT MAX VERSTAPPEN FUMING 👀

Max Verstappen’s patience with Red Bull’s RB22 appears to be wearing thin after another difficult weekend exposed the car’s continuing weaknesses.

The four-time world champion has endured a frustrating 2026 campaign, with the RB22 repeatedly proving difficult to handle and suffering from technical and performance limitations. Ahead of the Italian Grand Prix, Verstappen was once again left battling an intermittent rear-end problem that affected his grip during qualifying.

The issue proved costly at Monza, with Verstappen qualifying only sixth and warning that the race could be “painful” as Red Bull struggled to match its rivals.

Red Bull’s struggles have been a major talking point throughout the season. Technical director Pierre Waché previously acknowledged that a lack of downforce and mechanical limitations had made the RB22 difficult for Verstappen and Isack Hadjar to extract performance from.

 

Despite the problems, Verstappen managed to fight his way onto the podium at Monza, finishing third after starting fifth. However, the result did little to hide the gap between Red Bull and the leading teams.

 

For a driver accustomed to fighting for victories and championships, the RB22 has become an increasingly frustrating weapon. Verstappen has even admitted that repeated problems have changed his approach, with the Dutchman now more willing to back off when the potential reward is not worth taking unnecessary risks.

With the 2026 season continuing, Red Bull faces increasing pressure to solve the RB22’s weaknesses before Verstappen’s frustration grows even further.
