Mercedes star George Russell opens up on difficult F1 disqualification

George Russell has reflected on one of the most disappointing moments of his Formula 1 career, revisiting the Belgian Grand Prix disqualification that cost him what would have been a memorable victory for Mercedes.

Russell had produced an impressive performance at Spa-Francorchamps in 2024, using a bold one-stop strategy to take the chequered flag ahead of his Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton. On the track, it appeared to be a major triumph for Russell and a significant result for Mercedes.
