Just in: FIA Announce Lewis Hamilton penalty verdict after Dutch GP Sprint investigation…Read more

Lewis Hamilton has avoided a penalty after the FIA stewards concluded their investigation into an incident involving the Ferrari driver during Saturday’s Sprint at the 2026 Dutch Grand Prix.
Hamilton, who finished seventh in the Sprint, was among several drivers investigated over an alleged breach of the regulations concerning the required speed around the Safety Car line. The FIA subsequently reviewed the case and determined that no further action was necessary.

The decision means Hamilton keeps his seventh-place result and the championship points he earned, with no time penalty, grid penalty or penalty points added to his licence.
The investigation came as Hamilton endured a difficult weekend at Zandvoort. Ferrari struggled for pace during Sprint Qualifying, leaving the seven-time world champion to fight his way through the field rather than challenge for the leading positions.
Despite the scrutiny from the stewards, the FIA’s verdict provides Hamilton with some relief ahead of Sunday’s Dutch Grand Prix, where he will look to recover further points in the championship.
The decision also means Hamilton can focus entirely on Ferrari’s race strategy and performance after a challenging start to the weekend.
