Bruins trade on the way due to failed contract negotiations

The Boston Bruins made a solid seventh-round draft pick in 2021 in the form of Andre Gasseau.

The problem is that they haven’t ever signed him, and they would lose his rights if they don’t sign him soon.

That could lead to a trade to another team that would bring him aboard.

The Boston Globe has reported that a trade is now likely for Gasseau as the Bruins try to extract some type of value for him even if they don’t bring him into their own organization.

The lefty center had played in the U.S. National Development Team program prior to being drafted, and he then spent a year in the USHL with the Fargo Force.

After that, Gasseau enrolled at Boston College, and he has spent four seasons at the NCAA level.

Gasseau scored slightly less than a point per game in each of his first three seasons, then scored 23 points (6 goals, 17 assists) in 23 games in his final college season.

The 6-foot-4 center from Los Angeles might not be a sure-thing NHL player, but he also showed enough for a strong college program to think he probably deserves a chance.

For whatever reason, though, Gasseau and the Bruins can’t get on the same page, and it might result in him trying to deliver on his potential with another organization.
