Breaking: Early Today Red Bull Offer Verstappen a Five-Year Mega Deal

Red Bull offer Verstappen a five-year mega deal

Red Bull Racing has reportedly put forward a lucrative five-year contract proposal for Max Verstappen as the team looks to secure the four-time Formula 1 world champion for the long term. The reported offer comes amid growing speculation about Verstappen’s future and interest from rival teams.

According to reports from Germany, Verstappen has a new contract available to him that would include a significant increase in his salary. However, the proposal is reportedly not straightforward, with one of the major issues surrounding the driver’s existing exit clause.

Verstappen has been linked with possible moves to Mercedes and McLaren, although his preference has consistently been associated with remaining at Red Bull if the team can provide a competitive package. The Dutch driver’s future has therefore become one of the biggest talking points in the 2026 driver market.

The reported Red Bull proposal could be an attempt to remove some of the uncertainty surrounding Verstappen’s position. Reports suggest the five-year agreement would involve eliminating the controversial performance-related escape clause currently attracting considerable attention.

That clause has become particularly important because Verstappen’s future can be influenced by his position in the championship. His situation has attracted additional interest after he entered the summer break outside the top two in the standings, creating speculation about whether the conditions surrounding his contract could become relevant.

Despite the size of Red Bull’s reported offer, Verstappen may not be willing to give up his ability to leave the team if circumstances change. German journalist Ralf Bach has suggested that the driver could prefer a shorter agreement if it meant preserving greater flexibility over his future.

For Red Bull, retaining Verstappen would be hugely important. He has been central to the team’s success for years and remains one of the most highly regarded drivers on the Formula 1 grid. Keeping him would also give the team stability as it continues adapting to the latest technical era.

Verstappen already has a long history with Red Bull. His relationship with the organisation began before his promotion to the senior team, and he famously won the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix on his Red Bull Racing debut. He later became the team’s second world champion after Sebastian Vettel.

The latest reports should nevertheless be treated as unconfirmed. Neither a new five-year agreement nor the reported changes to Verstappen’s contract have been officially announced. For now, the situation remains part of the intense speculation surrounding the 2027 F1 driver market.

With the Dutch Grand Prix approaching, attention will increasingly focus on Verstappen and Red Bull. Whether the champion accepts the reported long-term proposal, negotiates different terms or keeps his options open could become one of the defining stories of the current F1 silly season.

For Red Bull, the message is clear: the team wants to keep its star driver. For Verstappen, however, the decision may ultimately depend not only on money, but also on competitiveness, contractual freedom and his confidence in Red Bull’s long-term plans.
