BREAKING: Christian Horner in Ferrari U-Turn as Lewis Hamilton Reveals Fight With F1 Bosses
Christian Horner’s potential Ferrari return has taken a fresh twist, while Lewis Hamilton has opened up about a separate battle with Formula 1 bosses that left him feeling like an “outcast.”
Horner has recently been at the centre of speculation over a possible return to Formula 1, with Ferrari emerging as the one destination he has openly admitted could tempt him back into a traditional team-principal role.
The former Red Bull boss described Ferrari as his “dream” destination and said it was the only team for which he would consider returning to the pit wall without an ownership stake.

However, Ferrari has now moved to cool the speculation.
The Scuderia publicly confirmed that it has “full confidence” in Fred Vasseur and his team, insisting that its position regarding the Frenchman has not changed. Ferrari’s communication chief Maria Conti also said the team wants to avoid allowing outside speculation to become a distraction.

That effectively changes the picture around Horner.
Rather than an imminent Ferrari takeover, the current situation is that Horner has made his interest clear while Ferrari continues to publicly back Vasseur. There is therefore no confirmed move for Horner to replace the current Ferrari team principal.
And amid the noise surrounding the team, Hamilton has also found himself discussing his own relationship with F1 authorities.
The seven-time world champion recently explained how his battles over what he could wear when arriving at Grands Prix had made him feel like an outsider. Hamilton has previously been vocal about expressing himself through fashion and has faced resistance from F1 bosses over what drivers should wear in certain official environments.

For Hamilton, the issue became about more than clothing. He described the experience as something that affected how he felt within the sport, highlighting the tension that can develop when drivers challenge established expectations.
The timing is particularly interesting because Hamilton remains deeply involved in Ferrari’s ongoing project.
The Briton has publicly backed Vasseur despite the Horner speculation. When asked after the Azerbaijan Grand Prix whether he remained confident Ferrari was heading in the right direction under Vasseur, Hamilton answered “Yes.” He also indicated that there was unity within the team.

That support comes after a difficult Azerbaijan weekend for Ferrari, with Hamilton finishing sixth and Charles Leclerc fourth.
Ferrari currently sits second in the Constructors’ Championship, but Mercedes has opened up a substantial points advantage. Ferrari’s recent lack of podium finishes has helped fuel questions about whether changes could eventually be required at Maranello.

For now, however, there is no official Ferrari-Horner deal.
Horner’s comments have certainly intensified the speculation, but Ferrari’s public position is clear: Vasseur remains trusted by the team.
Meanwhile, Hamilton’s comments provide another glimpse into the complicated relationship between one of F1’s biggest stars and the sport’s leadership.
With the championship battle continuing and Ferrari still searching for greater consistency, both the Horner speculation and Hamilton’s outspoken approach are likely to remain major talking points as the 2026 season moves into its closing stages.
