Ferrari Announced Fred Vasseur replacement as  Christian Horner

Ferrari have publicly addressed the growing speculation surrounding Fred Vasseur’s future, issuing a strong statement of support for their team principal after former Red Bull boss Christian Horner openly expressed his interest in working for the Italian outfit.
The statement comes after several days of renewed speculation over Vasseur’s position at Ferrari, with Horner’s recent comments adding further fuel to reports about a possible change in leadership.
Ferrari’s position, however, is clear. The team has confirmed that it has “full confidence” in Vasseur and his management team, insisting that its decision regarding the leadership of the Formula 1 operation has already been made.
“Ferrari has made its choices already. We have full confidence in Fred Vasseur and in his team, and we continue to do so,” Ferrari said in a statement released on Tuesday.
The Italian manufacturer also called for unity within the organisation, urging the team to concentrate on improving its performance rather than allowing speculation from outside the company to become a distraction.
“At this time, it is really important that the team remains united and cohesive, and we focus all our energy on the work ahead,” Ferrari added.
The intervention follows comments from Horner, who recently described Ferrari as his “dream” destination and indicated that it would be the Formula 1 team he would consider joining even without an ownership role. Those remarks immediately intensified questions about whether Ferrari could eventually consider replacing Vasseur.
Vasseur himself admitted after the Azerbaijan Grand Prix that the situation had become frustrating, particularly because questions about his future were dominating discussions around the team.
“We are not working in perfect serenity,” Vasseur said in Baku, explaining that a large proportion of questions being directed at him concerned the speculation surrounding his position.
The timing of Ferrari’s statement is significant. The team currently sits second in the Constructors’ Championship but has struggled to match Mercedes consistently, while its recent run of results has increased scrutiny on the organisation. Reuters reports that Ferrari trails Mercedes by 160 points in the championship.
Despite that pressure, Ferrari has chosen to publicly stand behind Vasseur rather than allow the rumours to dominate the team’s preparations for the remaining races.
The statement also appears designed to draw a line under speculation about Horner’s possible arrival, with Ferrari stressing that outside interest in its leadership does not mean there is an available position.
For now, Vasseur remains Ferrari’s team principal, with the Scuderia insisting that its priority is improving performance and maintaining unity as the 2026 season enters its crucial closing stages.
The focus will now shift back to the track, with Ferrari hoping its latest statement can end the leadership controversy and allow Leclerc, Hamilton and the wider team to concentrate fully on their championship campaign.
