The frightening incident occurred during Friday morning’s F2 practice session, before any Formula 1 cars had taken to the newly built venue. Tasanol Inthraphuvasak was involved in the first major crash of the weekend after losing control of his car only a few minutes into the session.

Inthraphuvasak spun at Turn 19 before the car was sent heavily into the wall. The rear section of the vehicle suffered the majority of the impact, with the crash immediately bringing the session to a halt.
