Formula 1 world champion Lando Norris has taken a major step beyond his driving career after launching his own racing outfit, LN4 Fusion, which is set to compete across several junior categories from 2027.
The new venture involving the 26-year-old British driver was officially confirmed by the FIA on Wednesday evening, marking Norris’ latest move to expand his influence within motorsport beyond the Formula 1 grid.
LN4 Fusion has secured selected assets from AIX Racing as part of its preparations to enter the competitive junior single-seater scene. The team is scheduled to make its Formula 3 debut in 2027, while it has also submitted an application to compete in Formula 2.
The planned F2 entry remains subject to the relevant approval process, but the project could ultimately give LN4 Fusion a presence across the two major FIA single-seater championships that serve as important stepping stones towards Formula 1.
The team is not expected to limit its activities to Formula 2 and Formula 3. LN4 Fusion has also outlined plans to participate in multiple other racing categories, suggesting that Norris’ project is intended to develop into a broader motorsport operation.
For Norris, the announcement represents a significant development in his long-term involvement in racing. While he remains one of the leading figures in Formula 1, establishing a team gives the McLaren star an opportunity to contribute directly to the development of young drivers and the wider motorsport landscape.
The acquisition of selected AIX Racing assets should also provide LN4 Fusion with an existing foundation as it prepares for its first full campaign in 2027. Building an operation capable of competing at F3 and potentially F2 level will require substantial investment, personnel and technical preparation.
Norris has previously shown a strong interest in motorsport away from his F1 commitments, and the creation of LN4 Fusion takes that involvement to another level.
