Martin Brundle has offered fresh insight into Christian Horner’s potential return to Formula 1, casting doubt on the possibility of the former Red Bull boss simply stepping back into another team-principal position.

Horner has been linked with several teams since leaving Red Bull, with Aston Martin emerging as one of the most frequently discussed destinations. However, Brundle believes Horner may be more interested in waiting for the right opportunity rather than immediately accepting a conventional team-management role.

The Sky Sports F1 analyst has previously suggested that Horner’s ideal comeback could involve having an ownership or shareholder position within a team, similar to the role Toto Wolff has at Mercedes. That would allow Horner to combine his management experience with a greater financial and strategic stake in a Formula 1 project.
