Real Madrid face serious competition for this promising player as the name of the top star is finally revealed

Chelsea have reportedly stepped up their interest in rising star Nico Paz, an exciting attacking midfielder currently playing for Como, who is also strongly linked with a return to Real Madrid.

Recent claims suggest the London club have now officially made an enquiry regarding the Argentine talent, further confirming their intention to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

This isn’t the first time Chelsea have been linked with Paz. Reports in recent weeks highlighted that the Blues have been monitoring his progress very closely, and now their plans to pursue him appear to have moved forward.

Paz has been one of the standout young performers in Serie A, showcasing impressive technical ability, creativity, and confidence on the ball, earning him a growing reputation as one of the top young midfielders in Europe.

With Chelsea continuing their long-term recruitment strategy of signing elite youth prospects from around the world, his profile fits perfectly with the vision of the club’s owners.

According to a report from TBR Football, Chelsea have already made contact about the possibility of signing Paz. However, despite their ambition and financial strength, they may not be in the strongest position to secure the deal.

Real Madrid are said to be leading the chase to sign the 21-year-old, largely due to their existing relationship with the player and a buy-back option they inserted when he left the Spanish giants.

Paz developed at Real Madrid and still has strong emotional and professional ties to the club. TBR’s report suggests that he is very much interested in returning to the Santiago Bernabéu to show that he can thrive at the highest level and become a key figure in the future of Los Blancos.

His preference to go back, combined with the buy-back clause, gives Madrid a clear advantage as the transfer battle develops.

For Chelsea, this could be a challenging pursuit. Nevertheless, signing a creative midfielder of Paz’s quality would be a major boost for Enzo Maresca.

The Italian coach has been working to build a squad less dependent on Cole Palmer for attacking sparks, and Paz could provide another dynamic playmaking option. His arrival could also influence whether Chelsea decide to sign current loanee Facundo Buonanotte on a permanent deal later on.

Despite Chelsea’s strong pitch and reputation as a major club, the decision may ultimately come down to the player’s desire and Real Madrid’s unique appeal.

The Spanish giants’ history, success, and global prestige make them an incredibly difficult competitor to beat in transfer negotiations. If Paz has truly set his heart on returning to Madrid, Chelsea might ultimately find their pursuit unsuccessful — not because of lack of effort, but because some players simply cannot turn down the opportunity to wear the famous white shirt again.
