Manchester City booked their place in the Carabao Cup final after defeating Newcastle United 3–1 at the Etihad Stadium, sealing a 5–1 aggregate victory in the semi-final.

The night belonged to Omar Marmoush, whose brilliant two-goal performance helped Pep Guardiola’s side take complete control of the tie before halftime.

Marmoush opened the scoring early and then struck again in the 29th minute, finishing from close range to double City’s lead and effectively end Newcastle’s hopes of a comeback. 

The Egyptian forward showed sharp movement inside the penalty area throughout the match, constantly putting pressure on Newcastle’s defense. His second goal highlighted his striker’s instinct attacking the ball decisively from close range to make it 2–0. 

It was another reminder of how quickly Marmoush has become an important attacking option for Manchester City since arriving at the club.

Tijjani Reijnders added a third goal later in the first half to complete a dominant opening 45 minutes for City.

Newcastle pulled one back in the second half, but the result was never in doubt.

Manchester City will now face Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley, as Guardiola’s team moves one step closer to another trophy.

After the match, Marmoush praised the team’s mentality and focus, saying the squad is determined to win silverware this season.
