“Felt Something in My Thigh” – Oscar Bobb Eases Injury Concerns During International Duty

Manchester City winger Oscar Bobb has downplayed fears of a fresh injury setback after experiencing a scare during the international break with Norway.

The 22-year-old raised alarm bells when he appeared to pick up a muscular issue in City’s 2-1 loss to Brighton at the Amex Stadium before the break. Norway’s head coach confirmed that Bobb underwent scans following discomfort in his thigh, leaving his involvement in the upcoming fixtures in doubt.

Concerns grew further with Pep Guardiola already dealing with a lengthy injury list at City. Rayan Cherki has been sidelined for two months with a thigh problem, while Abdukodir Khusanov and Rayan Aït-Nouri have also been forced to withdraw from their respective squads. City trio Rico Lewis, Nico O’Reilly, and John Stones have all pulled out of international duty as well, compounding worries over squad depth ahead of a demanding run of games.

Fortunately for Guardiola, Bobb has provided a positive update. Speaking to Dagbladet, and later relayed by Sport Witness, the forward insisted there is no lasting problem.

“It was nothing,” Bobb said. “I felt something in my thigh, and then it turned out there was nothing.”

The news comes as a major relief for Manchester City, particularly after Bobb’s frustrating 2024/25 season. The Norwegian missed most of the campaign due to a serious leg injury suffered just days before the Premier League opener against Chelsea—a cruel blow that halted his promising breakthrough.

Now fully fit, Bobb has already completed 90 minutes in Norway’s first fixture of the break alongside teammate Erling Haaland. Upon his return to Manchester, he is set to be thrown into a crucial run of games against Manchester United, Napoli, and Arsenal.

With Cherki sidelined and Guardiola searching for attacking solutions, Bobb may have the perfect chance to cement himself as a key figure. However, competition remains fierce, with summer signing Savinho also pushing for a place in the starting XI.

If his latest update holds true, Oscar Bobb could play a pivotal role in helping Manchester City bounce back from consecutive defeats before the international break—potentially becoming one of Guardiola’s most important attacking options this season.
